ESA and PC
Tue 09-Dec-08 01:22 PM

Clients are 67 and 53.Wife has RP plus OP and there are savings. No problem at that point. If husband (53) claims ESA cont based does it count in full for both GPC and SPC.I think it's only in full for the guarantee part but the comp system we are using thinks it is always disregarded in full.If it is, is it simply related to her age (67) even though it is his benefit? Thanks.

ESA would count in full for guarantee credit but would be disregarded for the savings credit part of the calculation. Section 4.3 of the following link will provide you with the relevant regulations:

http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2008/uksi_20081554_en_2

Hope this helps

Amy
