IS or JSA
Mon 21-Dec-09 09:05 AM

Hi - clt worked F/T. Partner gets CA for son who is on DLA. Clt sacked for gross misconduct. I advised partner to claim IS with clt as dep but clt claims JSA(CB) and is told by JCP that he must claim JSA(IB) rather than partner claiming IS. I thought they could choose? Not too important at the moment but I reckon he will be sanctioned for misconduct.

Can clt not claim JSA(CB) to protect cont record and then partner claim IS?

Ta.

A credit cannot be paid for any week for which a sanction is in force.

Of course - many thanks for this. A re-read of my blessed CPAG confirms the exception is for those sanctioned for a benefit offence.
