I understand the CIH are not holding a benefit conference this year.
As an adviser in a singleton post I need to attend this sort of conference for tips on best practice.
Does anyone know of any other organisation which running conferences, which may be useful, they can recommend?

The IRRV run a benefits conference in Harrogate each February but that's from an administrators perspective.

Why not suggest to NHF that they should run one?

I have contacted the NHF and they are not running one, I did tell them about the other one not being run.

I cannot help about a conference, but as mentioned on this forum some time ago, London and south-easternish Welfare Rights Officers etc. have been meeting quarterly for the last 10 years. We've also had members from large associations who've come down from Cheshire, Leeds etc. You would be welcome to come along. Although the meetings cover most benefits, housing benefit is usually discussed at length in the majority of the meetings
