INCOME SUPPORT ONLINE CLAIM FORMS Wed 12-Apr-06 08:41 AM
I notice that the down-loadable I/S claim form is back on the DWP website - one can't help but notice also that they still have the 2005/2006 benefit rates on there........this does not inspire confidence

I have downloaded one of these forms recenmtly but run into a further problem with the helpline. On the first page of the form it says "it is important that YOU enter the date YOU contacted the office here. If you can get benefit we can consider paying it from the date shown above..." (my emphasis). I thought it would be relatively straightforward to ring the Helpline and in effect register a claim for my client. Unfortunately the Helpline had no idea what to do and continually insisted that the only way to make the claim was by 'phone or electronically even when it was pointed out that the form came from their own website under the heading of 'how to get a claim form to fill in with a pen'. Does anyone know what the procedure should be or failing that who i can contact in the DWP for clarification.I'm in the south west region if I have to contact someone locally.
