EDP and benefits software
Fri 17-Dec-04 05:33 PM

Does anyone else use Lisson Grove or Quick Benefits and work in a hospital environment?

How do you get the packages to do a "what if?" representing DLA stopping after four weeks as an inpatient? Until now I've been using QB and going in and removing the DLA, but this nukes the EDP which shouldn't be so until 52 weeks (correct me if I'm wrong).

I had to manually alter the printout to get it to be right ... there must be a better way!

(If anyone with influence at Lisson Grove is listening, a little button saying I have been in hospital for 4 weeks would work fine for me!)

Morning

Give Jon Blackwell a ring at Lissom Grove - 01273 711 736 - he's a very helpful gentleman who has helped us out in the past when we've had a problem decyphering various parts of QB8 - if this is a glitch in the programme, (and I must admit I hadn't looked at this particular scenario), then they may be able to build the answer into the next version .........

I discussed this question with Sue Welsh earlier today. The Quick Benefits Calculator doesn't cover claimants in hospital - to see which situations benefits aren't covered by the calculator, click the disclaimer button on the front screen and follow the link in the help page.

The calculation appears to be working correctly in the Lisson Grove program. If the client is in hospital for 4->52 weeks and so DLA is in payment, the program asks if DLA was in payment before that time and, if so, whether that care component was payable at the highest rate. If yes to the latter, EDP gets added into the applicable amount.
