Client has 18 year old son who was at college. She is getting CB and CTC as well as a widowed mothers allowance (husband died before introduction of BB).
Son has left college course. CB unit inform me that CB will continue to next terminal date.
My understanding of this is that client also continues to be entitled to CTC and current rate of widowed mothers allowance until terminal date of CB and the son is not entitled to JSA (but can still sign on and get access to training?)
HB should treat him as part of benefit family and make no non-dependent deduction after ensuring he has no other income. Is this right?
What happens if he finds a job independently? Does CB stop then?
I am sure I am missing something but I don't know what. Can anyone shed some light?
