I have a client whose son is 18. He will be leaving school in June, hopes to go to university. Child Benefit will continue until 31/8, but Child Tax Credit will stop immediately he leaves education. And he cannot claim JSA while he is the Child Benefit extension period. Any suggestions as to what they can do to avoid him having to live on just £20 per week?

Sounds too obvious but what about a temporary job????
