If client goes into hospital for longer than 28 days and DWP notified, what happens with regard to their DLA, is there any effect to the mobility part.

Yes both care and mobility will be suspended.

If they have a motability agreement before they went in this continues.

If it was a residential home the mobility part would have continue.

Note the rules are different if the person is under 16, 84 rather than 28 days. Also, note the linking rules which mean that benefit would be suspended if you have been in hospital/care home within the previous 28 days.

If your stay in a care home is funded by the PCT your mc will almost certainly be suspended as well, as you will be caught by the 'hospital in-patient' regs.

They are not allowed to renew or start a new motability contract while in hospital.
