Does anyone know whether or not there is a system in place for TCO to routinely notify DWP Benefit Delivery Centres when someone is awarded WTC? Any other information about routine notifications by TCO to DWP would also be helpful. Thanks

My understanding is that there is a system in place whereby HMRC tell DWP systems that a tax credit interest exists. http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/ntcmanual/dwp_alerts/ntc0230010.htm What this system covers (in terms of information) and how it works exactly I am not sure. If you look at the HMRC manuals, there are lots of places where there are manual contacts between HMRC and DWP, for example:http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/ntcmanual/applica_appl_wl/ntc0050330.htmThis also might be useful:http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/ccmmanual/CCM3120.htmThere are also notifications that work the other way from DWP to HMRC.Victoria(LITRG)
Very helpful, thanks.

Can anyone tell me when this system was introduced? I suspect it might have been 2004 but I'm by no means sure. Thanks.
