non-dependant deduction

| have an elderly client who is in receipt of Guarantee pension credit who cares for her son who lives with her. he recieves SDA and DLA: high rate both componenents. A non dependant deduction is being made to the HB paid. Should this apply?

Hi Mary
As I understand it, a NDD will not apply where either:
1) The householder is in receipt of any rate af DLA Care, or Attend Allow or
2) the "non-dependant" is themselves, either under 18, or under 25 and claiming income-based JSA/IS/Income-based ESA without an added component.

hi Linus
yes I saw these basic conditions which don't apply (the son is 40 and the mother only receives PC and OAP) but thought there was something else about the situation which might exempt. Thanks anyway
