Calls to the Gingerbread Single Parent Helpline from all landlines and all major mobile networks are now free of charge. The range of networks covered by our free service is extended, so if the call is made through 3, Orange, Virgin, Vodafone, T-Mobile or O2, or a landline, the call should not cost a penny.

Callers can receive free and independent information and advice on all issues affecting single parents, including:

child support and maintenance,
contact,
employment,
education,
welfare benefits and tax credits,
housing,
debt

...and much more.

The Gingerbread Single Parent Helpline opening hours are:

Monday to Friday, 9am until 5pm
Wednesday, 9am until 8pm

We can give callers the details of other agencies who may be able to offer them assistance, we can send written information to help understand what actions need to be taken. We can also offer more in-depth advice if needed, through our advice service.
