Chancellor announces NI contributions Employment Allowance to apply to households that employ carers

Extension announced in today's Autumn Statement (paragraph 1.234) means that a family will be able to employ a care worker on a salary of up to £22,500 and pay no employer NI contributions and, in addition, care workers will be exempted from the impacts of removing the £8,500 threshold below which employees do not pay income tax on benefits in kind.
