This course -
- provides an update and an overview of employment and support allowance (ESA) in practice
- focuses in particular on the problem areas and on the migration of claimants from incapacity benefits
- is designed to enable participants to assist their clients in establishing and retaining entitlement to ESA.
By the end of the course participants should understand -
- how the work capability assessment (WCA); the limited capability for work related activity test works in practice, and related problem areas;
- the ESA appeals process, including how to provide effective support and evidence;
- options after ESA and incapacity benefit appeals;
- the reassessment process from incapacity benefits to ESA; and
- changes to the WCA and LCWRA.
