This course covers:

  • Who is a 'person who is subject to immigration control' (PSIC)
  • Which benefits they are excluded from and what the exceptions are
  • What is the relevance of having 'recourse to public funds'
  • The benefit entitlements of people living with partners or children with different immigration statuses
  • What are the benefits implications of a change in immigration status

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Identify who is a PSIC
  • Understand your clients' eligibility for benefits
  • Advise clients living with partners or children who have different immigration statuses
  • Understand the significance of a change in your clients immigration status
