New Ministry of Justice appointments announced
Two new ministers with responsibility for legal aid and legal services reform
Two new appointments have been announced at the Ministry of Justice by Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor, Rt Hon Jack Straw MP.
Lord Hunt of Kings Heath OBE has been appointed as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State. His responsibilities are:
- Legal aid
- Legal Services Commission
- Lords reform (with Secretary of state)
- Departmental business in the Lords
Bridget Prentice MP has also been appointed as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State with responsibilities that include:
- Civil and family justice
- Law Commission
- Social exclusion
- Tribunals and administrative justice
- Legal services reform
- Legal Services Complaints Commission
- Legal Services Ombudsman
- Asylum and immigration
