Manchester Mind is a well-established Manchester charity delivering a range of services to people with mental health problems. Our vision is of a society that promotes and respects good mental health for all, and that treats people with experience of mental distress fairly, positively and with respect.
Project - Manchester Mind Advice Team.
Length of Post - Initially 12 months (with possible extension after this time).
Manchester Mind has a small but experienced Advice Team who deliver Welfare Benefits, Housing and basic debt advice to people who are experiencing or at risk of mental health issues. Due to retirement of the current post-holder we are recruiting to the post which delivers casework to people who are in-patients at Park House (Mental Health Unit) in North Manchester. You would be based with the Advice Team in the Zion Centre but expected to deliver a mixture of drop-in and appointments on the in-patient wards.
We are looking for an advice worker who not only has significant advice work skills but also experience of working with people with mental health issues. You will need to be able to confidently work on your own but have good partnership development skills.
