Advice Session Supervisor / Benefits Adviser

Organisation: Citizens Advice Herefordshire
25-37 hours per week
£23,935 pa (pro-rata) + pension contribution (rate TBC)
Location: Hereford, Herefordshire
Deadline: 27 January, 2017

We're looking for a dedicated and experienced advice supervisor to join our small staff team and support our volunteers in providing high quality advice and information to Herefordshire residents. If you also have experience in providing specialist benefits advice, we can offer additional hours and you will also have some time to support our small team of benefits caseworkers.

The Advice Session Supervisor is part of our small supervision team and is responsible for supervising teams of volunteer advisers and assessors providing telephone, face to face and email generalist advice, based in our Hereford office. In addition to direct session supervision, you will also be responsible for supporting trainee advisers through elements of their training, overseeing a small caseload of generalist casework enquiries, improving quality through providing feedback to advisers and, on occasion, undertaking advice work.

To be successful in the role you'll need to have recent experience of both providing and supervising others in providing generalist level advice, preferably in most areas of social welfare law. You'll also need to be flexible and able to respond to changing priorities using your own initiative and judgement.

We are happy to receive applications for just the advice session supervisor hours which are 25 hours per week, or for the full-time post (37 hours) from applicants with specialist welfare benefits experience.
