Welfare Rights Officer - Telephone advice line/Take up worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our county wide Welfare Rights team.
We are looking for 2 experienced welfare rights workers who have -
- a detailed knowledge and understanding of all areas of social security law
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- experience of translating complex rules into clear advice and guidance to members of the public
- a good understanding of which benefits are under-claimed and how to promote take up of these benefits.
The main focus of the post is to provide telephone advice but you will also be involved in setting up and running campaigns and promotional events and providing support to these. You will also manage a small caseload to maintain the skills and experience required for giving telephone advice.
These posts are funded temporarily for two years.
