Homelessness (Suitability of Accommodation) (Wales) Order 2015

New regulations that specify what matters authorities must take into account in determining the suitability of accommodation, when B&B and shared accommodation are not suitable to be used for temporary accommodation, and when private rented sector accommodation is not suitable for discharging the duties under section 75 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014.

Councils breaching legal limits on disabled facilities grant timescales

New research by Leonard Cheshire Disability finds that, between 2011/2012 and 2013/2014, almost 2,500 disabled people a year waited over the time limit of a year to receive their disabled facilities grant after it had been approved, and that these delays were leaving disabled people living in inappropriate conditions and at risk of falls, and were driving up the costs of health and social care.
