Has anyone got any thoughts about the ‘light but bulky object.” The descriptor gives an example of an empty cardboard box but taking into account the preceding sentence the box has to be bulky. What does bulky mean eg massive, hard to handle and get a grip of?

Already done to death at http://www.rightsnet.org.uk/forums/viewthread/2949 and https://benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?view=topic&catid=10& id=97937. Definition of “bulky” is straight forward too i.e. large and unwieldy. Purpose of test is clear also.

Although this has come up for discussion under PIP, the problems I have seen relate more to ESA, where clients have been given 0 points for this activity even though they are only able to use one arm or where they rely totally on an aid in order to stand. I have trouble understanding the logic of ATOS who seem to think someone can perform this activity with just one arm / hand. Has anyone else come across this?

Yes my mistake - should have put this in the ESA section.

Will move thread to ESA now - Daphne
