Further to my post in the Income Support section:

Woman 37 weeks pregnant having difficulty getting fit notes for ESA from GP who thinks she should be over the grief of losing her baby last year. For various reasons she has been on assessment rate ESA for a year.

She was advised to claim IS as a couple on the basis that she is within 11 weeks of baby being due, however terminating her ESA claim would mean she’d miss out on backdated component if she passed WCA.

Payments stopped 1 month ago due to failure to send in a fit note and she can’t get a GP appointment til 10th March. Is there any scope in asking DWP to forego fit notes and pay her on the basis of her pregnancy in the provisions for being treated as having LCW?
