Any restrictions on arrears of Pension Credit

Following an appallingly long appeal (don’t ask!) my client has now got £22,000 back payment of Guarantee pension credit.

It is being currently disregarded as capital.

She naturally wants to repay her family who maintained her for the four years it took to resolve her appeal.

How long is back payment of GPC disregarded?

And is she restricted in how she disposes of any of it whilst it is disregarded?
