DLA First Tier Tribunal

Recently I attended a First tier tribunal for DLA. Capita Translation and Interpreting Services did not send a translator for the second time. The Judge informed me that we will proceed and that I would translate on their behalf. I declined and was informed that if not my client would be awarded nothing.

So we went ahead and I had to play both roles translator and clients advisor. At the end of the tribunal we were informed that we would get our decision by the end of the week.

I am not sure whether being coerced by the judge to proceed affected my clients rights as I am not a qualified translator - I only lived in her country for 5 years - I’d like some advice here if possible.

Many Thanks

Look at it this way…

If you don’t win you’ve almost certainly got a second bite of the cherry…
