Problems with UC online application

We have heard from staff helping UC claimants with their online claims that:

‘The Bank Account section it is generating an error message for whatever name the application puts in the ‘Name’ section, and that it refuses to acknowledge the name as correct no matter what you change it to. The form can’t be completed, therefore, and obviously that’s a major issue.’

This has come up three times in the last month. DWP has been informed, but there has been no comment as yet.

Is anyone else encountering similar problems?

Universal Credit (UC) team advise that the bank account section of the form has to be completed in capitals, otherwise it does return an error message. the section apparently does indicate it needs to be completed in ‘uppercase’.  We’re still checking to make sure this is all.
