Rights net story…..

http://www.rightsnet.org.uk/welfare-rights/news/item/26000-general-needs-social-tenants-to-face-benefit-shortfall-when-LHA-cap

The penny is starting to drop….amongst social landlords….

26,000 general needs social tenants to face benefit shortfall when LHA cap is imposed from April 2018, says NHF

From 2018 benefit for new (from 2016) social housing tenants living in general needs homes will be restricted to the Local Housing Allowance (LHA) rate for the local area. This restriction will include people over pension age.

For people under 35 this cap will be set at the Shared Accommodation Rate (SAR) unless an exemption applies.
