Cl. is currently on ESA in the SG and gets the EDP because of this.

They have now got PIPS Standard Rate Daily Living and are thinking about their partner claiming Carers Allowance and Income Support.

Am I right in thinking that the EDP would stop as under the IS rules the claimant wouldn’t be getting a qualifying benefit once the IS starts and the ESA then stops.

I apologize in advance if this is obvious!

Yes - they would need PIP ERDLC to get an EDP for IS so they’ll be better off on ESA.

your correct from what i can see so they would be financially better off with the ESA top up than is.
