Working with representatives guidance
The DWP has just published an updated version of its “Working with representatives: guidance for DWP staff”
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/working-with-representatives-guidance-for-dwp-staff
(Last updated in August 2015)
Just comparing it to an earlier version ...
(NB - here’s a link to a copy dated Sept 2015: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/461988/working-with-representatives-sept-2015.pdf)
The new version replaces references to ‘implicit consent with ‘alternative enquiry’ ....
... and also includes links to Universal Credit consent and disclosure of information
Any other changes?
I will never forget quoting from the guidance about six years ago to someone at Peterborough BC who did not believe me , so I suggested she look on the DWP Intranet and she then accused me of having hacked into the DWP’s intranet to get a copy!
At times like that I remind myself that the Home office is far worse to deal with.

Looks like that link no longer works ... but if anyone needs the previous version, it’s here too:
