only one i’ve done was for my mother a few years ago, and that was quick and painless (but then, at her age with dementia and in full time care home, i should hope so too!)

My last one came through in just under 5 weeks. Started the last week of May. Awarded 1st week of July. That’s 5 weeks from claim to awarding decision. I do few though so have no idea how representative that might be.

I’m finding them slower than normal, taking about 6 weeks. I think they’ve all been poached to sort out the mess in PIP and ESA

6 weeks. Normally approx 2 weeks for DS1500 claim.

As quickly as 1 week up to around 12 weeks, so the 6 week figure is probably a good one to go on, but don’t be surprised in a 4 week turn around.

Agreed. I have had 1 week decisions a couple of times in the past but 5/6 feels about right.

By the time we’ve finished posting on this thread Dan will have had his decision 😊

I’d concur with the six week turnaround, that sounds about right. Prior to the move to Blackpool in 2013/14, the staff at Palatine House were issuing decisions in about three days (I used to do about 20 applications for AA a week).

my first paid job in welfare rights was form filling for a charity.

used to do a mixture of DLA/AA and IB50’s. probably around 30 forms a week mixing in the odd ccg etc.

might end up one day with an idb prescribed welfare rights injury.

And the success rate?

that was far too long a time ago to properly remember.

what i do remember is the delight when someone had been incorrectly sent an ib50 whilst on high care and should have been exempt from the pca.

oh to have that exemption now for the wca.
