“The Supplier [Maximus] has developed a bespoke combination of monitoring tools to categorise and prioritise online conversations associated with the delivery of the Health and Disability Assessment contract. This will alert the Supplier and enable them, if necessary, to respond with appropriate messaging”

“The Supplier will [...] monitor social media issues as they emerge and reinforce positive messages as appropriate”

“Social media monitoring will [...] ensure key search terms exceeding a threshold number of social media messages are flagged to the press office for a considered response on a 24/7 basis”

I noticed similar in the recent Housing Benefit overpayment recovery good practice from the news story on 16 Feb.

On page 6, under the section headed Effective debt recovery - Good practice includes use of social media sites to provide an indication as to a debtors potential means of repayment/life style

So it’s not just Maximus who’ll be snooping on you but the local authority as well potentially.

To be fair - having thought about it the practice is no difference to most other businesses using social media.

Should you make a complaint in general - let’s say using

#Bigsupermarket ripped me off and the queue was too long and didn’t have what I want. Sort your life out!

You’ll get a response from the #Bigsupermarket customer service team to at least apologise and to I assume prevent damage to the business by mediating. As below…...
