DWP blames cancer patient for her illness

This letter from the Department for Work and Pensions was posted by Chris Nelson on facebook.

According to this letter, the DWP is clearly placing the ‘blame’ for having cancer on the patient herself.

Has the demonisation of welfare claimants in the UK got to the point where we’re blaming cancer patients for their own illnesses now?

Complaint to DWP at the highest possible level!!!!

Demand that they justify their conclusion with medical evidence, or withdraw it, issue full and grovelling apology and pay compensation for distress caused.

I find that channelling the matter through the local MP usually persuades DWP to take it more seriously than if either I or the client raise it directly through complaints/escalation process.
