Has anyone got experience of DHP paid in UC cases?  How are LAs calculating and paying - on a calendar monthly basis in line with UC or on a weekly/4 weekly basis in line with their payment systems?  Are they paying direct to landlord?

For Dundee, DHP is being paid to the landlord and in line with their 4 weekly HB payments.
In Edinburgh it is paid to the tenant unless in arrears of rent then it is paid to the landlord, they pay monthly.

In Glasgow they are paid 4 weekly direct to claimant.

Hi thanks for the replies.  I have now been told that Middlesbrough are going to pay 4 weekly direct to landlord, although will need claimant’s agreement as nothing on the DHP form for them to agree this (unlike HB form).  Durham are paying monthly apparently, and still waiting to hear from Stockton and other authorities.

I must say I’m glad they’ve simplified the benefit system ... rent charged weekly, UC paid monthly, DHP (an increasingly important part of the actual benefit system) paid 4 weekly ....

Considering that the HB software suppliers have charged local authorities for enhancements to their DHP modules in the light of UC, you would think that a monthly payment function should come as standard out of the box.  But I am sure it’s all very complicated to achieve in practice
