‘Interesting’ tender opportunity -

DWP requires research to be undertaken, in a research laboratory environment, with recipients of the Carers Allowance and recipients of the Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).

In a typical lab situation DWP shall have one DWP researcher in a room with the participant and other DWP researchers (if appropriate) and invited observers behind a two way mirror evaluating what is happening. As well as viewing the interview they can also see the activity on the web screen via monitors in their room. The proceedings are currently recorded on MP4 for subsequent use when research findings are being reported. The participants cannot see the people in the viewing facility though they know they are there.

A benefits Milgram experiment?

“Sanction him”
“But sir, he doesn’t have any money, he is all sanctioned out already”
“Sanction him”
“Sir, I am really not happy about this”
“Just do it: sanction him”

OMG!! Are they going to start grafting foreign bodies to the volunteers? Manual wheelchairs for example?

This is going to give me nightmares…

They don’t need to graft them onto manual wheelchairs, they can just use the invisible ones over there in the corner….

Testing the optimum telephone hold recording? I.e. how to make people frustrated so they hang up without making it too obvious: maybe if we try 2 slightly louder scratch and pop noises here, and distort the audio slightly more there, people will hang up 52 seconds sooner.
