Interested to know peoples views on disabled person on ESA and DLA MC who has lost his accommodation.

Sofa surfing so not technically homeless.Does he retain SDP?

My view is yes because no one gets Carers Allowance for looking after him and he is not part of the household wherever he is sofa surfing. He is also not living at any address as he is just staying at each one temporarily so he should still count as living alone wherever he goes.

This is my hope but not easy to find a definitive answer so would be grateful for views on this.

The test is ‘normally residing with’.  So, no, in most cases the sofa surfer will not be residing with the person on whose sofa he sleeps.
