Hello all

I know this is a really silly question and I don’t know if I dreamt it but has the government done a u turn on denying people nil income when doing a mandatory reconsideration for ESA. I know that from October 2013 they changed the rules that you didn’t get the assessment phase if you did a mandatory recon and unless you claimed JSA or something else you couldn’t get money until you submitted an appeal and it was registered

please can anyone put me out of my misery

thanks

best wishes

Hi Nigel

Not sure if I’ve understood your question correctly but it is still the case that you can’t get ESA during the mandatory recon period so JSA is generally the only route to income (unless you have entitlement to IS through kids for example)

Thank you Daphne

apologies. I just got it into my head that something had gone through parliament now and that the issues of putting people into poverty had been looked at.

thanks for your time

best wishes

Nigel

We all have these dreams Nigel. Then, sadly, we wake up!
