“I didn’t think a CV would help me but my work coach told me that all employers need one.”

Typical rubbish from the Jobcentre. I think I could guess what would happen if I tried to apply for a job at, for example, the jobcentre by sending in a CV

Contact your local council straight away if your payments are reduced as it may affect your Housing Benefit and Council Tax reduction. They will tell you what you need to do next.

As we all know, HB shouldn’t be affected, and DWP say that problems have been resolved so why does this statement appear if that’s the case?

And the section on claiming hardship payments is, if I’m being polite, rubbish.

“We will send you a letter explaining our decision.” - But only if your WRO tells you to remind us this is a legal requirement!

Also, what’s all this about WP providers helping you find work. As an ESA claimant, you have been assessed as having limited capability and therefore should NOT be required to look for work, only to prepare for a return to the workplace.

Also, Paul is correct. Sanction should NOT affect HB/CTS. All too often it does because JCP incorrectly (or maliciously) notify the HB office that ESA has “stopped”.

It’s nice that if you establish you had a good reason, your benefit ‘might’ not be affected.

.

Recent experience would tell me that the WPPs don’t know that; I went to a couple of WFIs with a schizophrenic chap recently and the WPP concerned did not appear to discriminate between JSA & ESA clients other than persuading them to “volunteer” to apply for jobs rather than simply forcing them to. The consequent inclusion of applying for work on an action plan teetered surprisingly close to facilitating a sanction and the client concerned certainly thought he was at risk of the same should he not apply.

Sadly the client’s circumstances mean I won’t be pursuing it through the Employment Tribunal but if I get chance again…

Another example unfortunately of Mr Duncan Smith “changing lives”........

Too right,

I’ve seen a few ESA clients recently who have reported being put under what sounds to be like undue pressure to move into work.  There seems to be a repeat of the drive to ‘encourage’ such clients to set up as self-employed going on (something that was happening a lot a few years back) and a very unwelcome development it is.

My benefit is back to normal now and I’m really pleased with how my CV looks. It’s going to help me when I’m ready to go back to work.”

I would like to suggest that Sarah is not a real example/person. Two weeks on less than £30 a week and she is really pleased with her CV that she (quite rightly) didn’t see the point of doing in the first place! Sarah looks like a JCP employee to me.

Someone should serve a writ of habeas Sarah on the DWP!

Alerted via twitter that the pdf that Ros linked to above is no longer available ...

... Instead there’s an html page @ https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/employment-and-support-allowance-sanctions and that page links to a page (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/employment-and-support-allowance-sanctions/employment-and-support-allowance) that says ‘This leaflet will appear here soon’ ...

‘How to Spot a Fake Review’ this Time article brings to attention the over-use of personal pronouns in fake reviews…...

Sarah’s use of personal pronouns seem overzelous to me.!
I rest my case.

Falsification Fabrication and Misinformation from the DWP regarding sanctions that effect the most vulnerable and poverty stricken.. Sick!
