UC online claims - not possible to save?

WB forum meeting today, advised by DWP partnership manager that it is not possible to save online claim and return to it later (as with JSA) if client does not have all required info at time or connection lost.  She said DWP were not intending to change this.

We don’t have UC in our area yet but it looks like it could be a major problem especially with poor rural access to make another claim and connection issues.  What is the experience of advisers in area where UC is being claimed now?

Absolutely correct. No “save” facility, and site times out after 40 minutes. We were also told there are no plans to change this.

After all, we wouldn’t actually want to encourage claims, would we?

They said to us at operational stakeholders that they were looking into a save function but they had no timescale on it - I will check with them
