Hi -

We’ve been contacted by Cathy Heffernan -

‘I am a TV journalist who directed a BBC See Hear programme looking at how changes to the Access to Work scheme were affecting deaf people. I am now looking into the wider issue of disability and employment - I am interested in hearing from people who are currently involved in government schemes and initiatives around getting disabled people into employment or people who work with disabled people and have an insight into how well employment initiatives are working for them.

I am in touch with a production company about this and am hoping to pitch a programme looking at this area but right now nothing is commissioned and I am just doing preliminary research. Any conversations I have at this point will be strictly confidential and are just to help me understand what the current situation is.

The best way to contact me is by email at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

You can also phone me between 8am and 6pm at 0207 227 3217. Please note that I am deaf and this phone call will be relayed by a sign language interpreter.’

NB - you can see a trailer for Cathy’s See Hear programme @ http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p028qcgb

Cheers - Shawn
