Pension Credit and Housing Costs - Backdating
Thu 20-Mar-08 09:05 AM

Can housing costs on pension credit be backdated. (Mortgage interest and service charges).

We have a client who has had their pension credit backdated 52 weeks but their Mortgage interest and service charges have not been. Is this correct?

No.

THe PC entitlement, including and housing costs during the period, should be backdated.

Thanks for your answer. Do you know what regulation backs this up?

It doesn't need a regulation. There are no provisions within backdating for PC for a partial amount only of entitlement to be used, unless there is some offsetting reason.
