Cut and pasted this from an email I've just received from 'Benefits and Work' - apologies to those who are already aware.

"This month we have confirmation that the vast majority of incapacity benefit claimants will not, after all, be moved onto employment and support allowance - at least not before 2014 at the very earliest. In spite of this extraordinary u-turn claimants will still, however, have to pass the new work capability assessment (WCA)..."

I've got no idea where that news comes from though, i'd be interested to see a source.

Thanks for that. Presumably you mean they will be subject to the new WCA from 27/10/2008, even though retaining all the other conditions of ICB?IS?.

No, the last announcement that i heard was that under-25 year old existing claimants will undergo new WCA from next year, and all other existing claimants willl begin to be tested with WCA from 2010.
