Not that I am one to complain at the disparate levels of LHA in London, as this will mean that the concerns I had about people on housing benefit being pushed into cheaper areas are obviously groundless. I used the rent service calculation to check what would be paid for a three bedroom in North London:

Inner London: £900 (N1)
Inner North and West London: £415.38 (N4)
Outer North London: £279.92(N8)

I presume these are weekly rates because you certainly can't rent a three bed for £279 a month (privately).

Now, Haringey has properties in both in and outer London. Crouch End and Muswell Hill are fairly expensive, and are outer London. Green Lanes is much cheaper, but inner London.

Why would anyone choose to live in Outer North London??
