Hb for two addresses?

I have a client who has just had a baby. She normally lives on 5th floor but can not use lift/stiars at moment because of stiches and houisng worker is tryinbg to get her some temp accomodation on ground floor.

Question is how ouls she pay te rent?

Does anyone know of reg which would allow her to claim HB on two address for temp period???

If the move is with the same landlord, then one would hope that common sense would prevail - the problem normally arises when moving from private - where 4 weeks/one months notice is the norm, to HA or LA acocomadation. HA's often want their tenancies signed as soon as possible - even when they are aware of the need to give notice in the existing home...as do some LA's.

In those circumstances, and if that is the only way which a person can secure the property they really need, then an overlap can be paid - with one proviso - it can only be paid from the date that you take possession. CH/2957/2004 claried that moving in did not mean physically moving in, but by moving your possessions (some furniture) in you are deemed to have "taken possession".
