IB based on Polish Contirbutions
Mon 01-Dec-08 12:35 PM

Does anyone have any info or experience of this.

I have read little snippets which say continbutions paid in Poland can count towards the IB conditions but have had difficulty finding any more detail. If a Polish client claims IB should their Polish record be looked at automatically or do they have to prompt this themselves in some way?

I'm not really sure about this but the answer seems to be in Council Regulation 1408/71, somewhere round article 18, which deals with the aggregation of periods of incurance in different EU countries. The article says "shall to the extent necessary", but my guess would be that unless you ask them to look at the Polish record they would not be expected to do so. How are they to know he ahs one, and what reference was ebing used?
