Cl completed HB form and requested that payments be made straight to landlord as cl has issues dealing with money. HB have now admitted that they paid it to the client in error however they say its the clients responsibility to pay money to landlord. However I wonder if this is the case in these circumstances especially when HB have admitted that its their error that it was paid to the claimant in the first place.

There are now a handful of CDs that confirm that once HB has been paid, even if to the wrong party, it cannot be paid again.

The only course of action available is to complain and ask for compensation.

Same happened to me the other week.. Tenant spent the money - he is alcoholic - HB knew this.. I put in a complaint and they are going to pay the landlord compensation of the same amount...
