(Really easy) ESA questions (I can't answer)
Sat 18-Oct-08 01:40 PM

How long can one be abroad and maintain an entitlement to ESA?

Whats the application form called?

Whats the Work Capability Assessment questionnaire called?

If you fail the WCA, how long before you can reapply for ESA?

I know, they are basic questions but it's Saturday afternoon, I am not up to rigouirous research.

Thanks for your help

Go to the DWP website - find theAdvisers & professionals button and click onit - you'll see the ESA link on the right hamde side - hit that and on the next page on the left hand side you'll see "fact sheets" - that will open the ESA page with all you've ever wanted to know about about ESA (well, some) set out in 17 technical fact sheeets - suprisingly easy to follow.......

You can go abroad for upto 4 weeks before losing ESA unless its for medical treatment for self or child when its 26 weeks or If NHS treatment indefinately BUT for the last 2 you have to get permission from DWP before you go. I think you just need to write in not aware of a specific form.

Limited Capacbility for Work test questionairre ESA50.

Reapplying is 6 months unless condition worsens significantly or a new diagnosis.

If you fail LCW because ESA50 not returned in time it appears you can reclaim as soon as the form is returned. No doubt this entail the completion of claim forms.

Good luck
M
